Refreshed Bolt EV and new Bolt EUV to be produced in summer 2021
The Chevrolet Bolt EV has earned some impressive reviews since its 2016 launch. Earlier this year, it performed the notable feat of increasing sales by 36% in the first quarter—a period during which overall Chevy sales were down (at least part of that success was due to heavy discounting). The Bolt is believed to be the second best-selling EV in the US at the moment, behind the Tesla Model 3.
Plans to launch a refreshed version of the Bolt were delayed by a certain annoying little virus, but Chevrolet has now announced that the updated Bolt EV, along with a new crossover version, the Bolt EUV, which features a slightly longer wheelbase and more trunk space, will go into production in summer 2021.
The Bolt EUV will be the first Chevrolet to feature GM’s Super Cruise, a Level 2 autonomy system that GM describes as “hands-free driving technology for the highway.”
