In this video I show how HACK the HOVERBOARD MOTHERBOARD.
Changing the firmware of the motherboard from the hoverboard it can be controlled via the messages sent on USART and you get a powerful electric mobile platform.
OBS: “zadig” driver must be installed from the location https://zadig.akeo.ie/ in order for the “USB ST- LINK V2” to work in Platform IO.
‘USB ST-LINK V2’ is the device used to reprogram the motherboard.

0:07 – Battery connector removing (VERY IMPORTANT)
0:15 – JTAG connector to access the memory
0:29 – JTAG pins notation
0:43 – Unlock the flash using STM32CubeProgrammer software from STLink website
1:05 – Firmware Download from GitHub
1:20 – PlatformIO download and install from www.platformio.org
1:44 – Select the USART mod and flash the firmware on hoverboard motherboard
2:08 – Arduino download and install from arduino.org
2:27 – Adapt the code in order to work with board ATMEGA2560
2:43 – Pins connection from Arduino to Hoverboard.
2:49 – Test.
