Electrification of Railway :- Indian Railways has completed the electrification of 52,247 route kilometres (RKM) out of 65,414 RKM as of April 2022. According to railways, the electrification will be completed by 2023-24.
Redevelopment of Railway Station:- Every station will need to have a spacious roof plaza with all passenger amenities at one place along with spaces for retail, cafeterias, and recreational facilities.
Both sides of the city will be connected with the station, with the station building on both sides of Railway tracks. Facilities like food court, waiting lounge, playing area for children, a place for local products, among others will be available. The Master plans have been prepared for smooth movement of traffic, with adequate parking facilities.
Separate freight corridor:- A dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) is a high-capacity railway corridor that is exclusively meant for the transportation of goods and commodities. With seamless integration of world-class technology, DFC ensures faster transit, reduced logistics costs, higher energy efficiency and environment-friendly operations.
Bullet Train corridors:- India is all geared up for its first high-speed bullet train which will run between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The MAHSR corridor will cover 12 stations in all- Surat, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, Sabarmati, Bilimora, Bharuch, Mumbai, Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi stations.
Gujarat’s Surat will become the first station for India’s upcoming Bullet Train Project. The Minister of State for Railways Darshana Jardosh on Thursday tweeted the first glimpses of the Surat station revealing that the interiors will resemble a sparkling diamond.
Hyperloop Train:- A hyperloop is a proposed high-speed transportation system for both public and goods transport. The term was popularized by Elon Musk to describe a modern project based on the vactrain concept. Hyperloop systems comprise three essential elements: tubes, pods, and terminals.
