Late-season powder day potential continues to skyrocket thanks to the continued snowstorms we’ve seen this late into the year and their impact on extending seasons for many resorts. While the spring skiing season is shaping up to be a solid one with more storms on the way, we’ve rounded up a running list of which resorts have already announced their plans to extend this year’s season. It’s worthwhile to note that these dates are tentative, specifically if they get additional snow which could keep their ski seasons going for even longer than they’re currently predicting. See below for the current list, as of 4/12/23, and bring on the endless winter season!
British Columbia, Canada Resorts
- Silver Star: new closing day is April 16.
California Resorts
- Mammoth: new closing day is July 30.
- Heavenly: new closing day is May 7.
- Northstar: new closing day is April 30.
- Kirkwood: new closing day is May 14.
Colorado Resorts
- Aspen Highlands: new closing day is April 16.
- Aspen Mountain: new closing day is April 23.
- Copper Mountain: new closing day is May 7. This is the longest season the resort has seen in 25 years.
- Vail Mountain: new closing day is May 1. This will be Vail’s longest continuous season in its 59-year history.
- Monarch Mountain: new closing day is April 16.
Oregon Resorts
- Ashland Ski Area: new closing day is April 23. Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays through March then open weekends only through April.
- Mt. Bachelor: new closing day is May 28.
New York Resorts
- Hunter Mountain: new closing day is April 10.
Pennsylvania Resorts
- Elk Mountain: new closing day is March 26.
Utah Resorts
- Alta: new closing day is April 23.
- Beaver Mountain: new closing day is April 9.
- Brian Head: new closing day is April 16.
- Deer Valley: new closing day is April 23.
- Park City: new closing day is May 1.
- Powder Mountain: new closing day is April 16.
- Snowbasin: new closing day is April 16.
- Snowbird: new closing day is May 30.
- Solitude: new closing day for daily operations is May 7. Then, open Friday through Sunday until May 21.
Vermont Resorts
- Mount Snow: new closing day is April 23.
- Killington: new closing day is April 29.
Washington Resorts
- Stevens Pass: new closing day is April 16.
