Lightyear One—the ultra-efficient Lightyear styled in a teardrop-shaped was designed out of the World Solar Challenge. The five-seater car exterior is designed with 1,000 units of solar tiles that soak up energy from the sun and convert it into electricity to charge the car’s battery with up to 7.5 miles of range per hour on a sunny day. Aptera—the aerodynamic three-wheel design car is powered by a combination of solar and electric energy. The Aptera has 180 solar cells designed into the body, which can soak up to 5 miles of charge every hour under the bright sun.
