If it wasn’t obvious already, Jetpack Joyride is one of my all-time favorite mobile games. I think the early-to-mid 2010s were some kind of golden age for video games that you can play on your iPhone, particularly around 2011–2013. Halfbrick was on a big role at the time, and this and Fruit Ninja were games I frequently enjoyed. Nowadays it’s just this game that still gets a good juggle every now and then. I’ve been playing this game as early as November 2012, and I’m excited to see its direct sequel (with GUNS!) come out soon.
I think I’ve played this on nearly every platform I can own. my iPods, my mother’s iPhone, several Android tablets (including the one pictured), my own iPhones…I couldn’t get enough of this game, out of all the endless runners. I would definitely select this over Subway Surfers and Temple Run. I especially LOVE the crossover events, the best one is DEFINITELY with Metal Slug.
Anyways, it was March 19, 2021. I’ve heard for a while now that when you reach 30,000 meters you come across a wall of lasers that can only be passed with the Strong Arm Machine (S.A.M.). This was my final goal in the game after buying everything in the shop and obtaining all achievements and event prizes. I’ve restarted several playthroughs, the one pictured is my current run since December of 2019. There’s this stupid update that forces people’s Halfbrick accounts to not be classified through social media accounts (I.E. Facebook or Google), but through platform accounts (Samsung’s Google Play or Apple’s Game Center). Bullshit, but not too disruptive.
I grinded hundreds of times whenever I’m not at new events, frequently hitting 10K or occasionally 15K. I’ve experimented with sets of gadgets and have seen folks get over a million meters, so I know it’s possible with my own personal goal now, since recent updates definitely made it possible. The funny thing is however I reached said goal almost accidentally. I was gonna make a more prepared session but somehow I got too good at the game and was about to hit the grand mark anyway, so I was kinda surprised. It was definitely more skill than luck.
After this I took several screenshots so as to not leave this disproven. The whole run took around 20–25 minutes. I was disappointed it wasn’t a single cohesive video but I stitched the two together through OpenShot Video Editor and there you go. Somehow the quality here isn’t that good, it was shot on my mother’s current iPhone, which is pretty advanced.
Yeah, this is the first time on this channel you can see my face. I’m a little shy and I’m not good at video editing yet. If I had a proper screen recorder this video would’ve looked a lot better.
