Background: In 2015 Lexus released an ad (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zTCgMPZRuo) that got skaters, car enthusiasts and Back to the Future fans excited — it showed, what looked like, a real hoverboard.
This video shows FLEET’s in-house version of a hoverboard in the form of a superconducting disk levitating on a track of magnets. The same principles apply to the hoverboard
And yes hoverboards are real if you have some really powerful magnets and lots of liquid nitrogen, but you have to build it all yourself.
