To date, sibling brands Hyundai Kia have chosen to focus their attention on building platforms capable of supporting hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric drivetrains.
The results, while competent and enjoyable, had their downsides.
Now both companies are producing their first electric vehicles based on the e-GMP platform. It’s a new platform designed exclusively for electric vehicles.
The Kia EV6 is Kia’s offering – but today, we’re driving the Hyundai IONIQ 5.
