Greeting friends and family! We hope you all had a WONDERFUL Christmas Day (if you celebrate). For Ethan, he woke up with a couple of Pit Bulls dressed as Elves then finally dragged himself to the Christmas Tree so that we could all open our gifts. Santa was good to Ethan who was good this year, getting straight A’s in school and generally being a good boy. He got a cool Hoverboard, tons of gift cards for Roblox and Fortnite, and a few other items. Papa got a new wedding ring (his original was long ago lost and never replaced in hope of finding it one day) and mom also got a new, very nice, wedding ring. While we are truly blessed to have our health and great love and support from a super family, we are always thankful for the gifts we receive during this time of year.
Also, announced to the family this Christmas, the Battle Family has decided to invest in a new boat moving forward as an alternative to vacations at Universal or Disney or cruises. Traveling has become quite an ordeal with COVID and all the other turmoil in the world. It’s certainly not a great environment to hop on a plane and go visiting the world. But we are lucky enough to live in a place that many strive to visit on vacation and have opted to take matters into our own hands. As lifelong Floridians, we have owned boats in the past and always enjoyed them. Our last boat did not survive the horrible 2009 depression but now, 12 years later, perhaps we will be able to get back on the water.
We put in an order with Scarab who has slated our Scarab 255 ID jet boat to be built in January (delivery in February). We are hopeful they are able to complete it even with their supply chain being constricted as it has been recently. Ethan has not been exposed to the great wonders of the ocean, but we are hopeful this next chapter in our lives opens up many opportunities for adventure, exploration and fun! Given you all are willing, we will bring each one of you along for the ride! What’s the plan, you ask? Well, we HAVE fished quite a bit in the past, but found it was…well…not as much fun as diving, snorkeling, exploring, tubing, wake boarding, skurfing, skiing…..well…you get the picture ? Let’s go adventure together!
