Students invest in futuristic technological innovation: Dr. Satheesh Reddy- DRDO chief
Motivating graduates to explore technology and research, DRDO Chairman Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, on Sunday, said they bore the responsibility of adding sheen to the global recognition which India has acquired in this area. Speaking at the 4th graduation ceremony of MIT Art, Design and Technology University, Pune he said that India has crossed several milestones with successful projects. India is now in the fourth position in the world in possessing the most powerful defence systems.
Student you always keep your target high and work it with very sincerely, dedicatedly, and hard work. We have developed our own light combat aircraft tejas, battel tank Arjun, world longest range gun, ballistic missile defence program, anti-drown system. We are self-reliant in the area of missiles, radar, sonar, and torpedo, electronic work for system, high range gun, aircraft, armed vehicle, communication systems and many think what is required for a defence country today. We need to become self-reliant in many other areas. Now it is time for us to develop many things in technology develop the first. Students start their own start-up. Achieve some technological innovation. DRDO technology development funding Scheme introduced. If students have a good idea, good design and defence product we are to get 10cr funding to develop the product. Students also start up their own ideas in Atal incubation center in university. These are schemes to promote students’ ideas, design and technology products. DRDO helps universities for in-depth research in innovation. Academic institutes play an important role in technological innovation. University is the basic building blocks in any technological achievement of any country. Universities should strengthen their infrastructure, calibrate their academics and then do in -depth research in each and every area. University is the engine of innovation. Students and universities come together along with incubation centres. We should come up with many new ideas, innovations and innovative products which can be sold elsewhere in the world. Every country has Indian products. For that our product has to be technologically advanced, low-cost and quality has to be very good and you people should be doing that. Make this country prosper through technology.
This year, 2205 students who graduated and post-graduated in the year 2020-21 in 13 various disciplines. Out of them, 44 students from various disciplines will be awarded gold medals and 8 Ph. D. students will be awarded degree certificates.
The University has a practice of conferring honorary doctoral degrees to eminent personalities who have achieved excellence in their chosen field of work as a way of recognising societal contribution and to inspire a future generation of achievers. The honorary degree is awarded to Mr. Prashanta Nanda, Member of Rajya Shabha and Smt. Aparajita Sarangi, Member of Parliament awarded Shree Saraswati Devi Jeevan Dnyan Gaurav Puraskar. Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, Founder President of MIT ADT University, Prof Dr. Mangesh Karad, Executive President and Vice-chancellor, Mr. Anil Parab, Transport Minister, Maharashtra, Dr. Suchita Nagre-Karad, Dr. Sunita Karad, Prof. Jyoti Karad-Dhakane, Scientist Vijay Das, Dr. Anant Chakradeo, Dr. Mahesh Chopra were present.
Prof. Dr. Vishawanath Karad, advised graduates to think creatively and make new discoveries rather than just following tradition. Congratulations to all the graduates for success and upcoming achievement in a demanding ecosystem which they are going to enter.
Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad, Vice Chancellor, MIT ADT University, presided over the ceremony and motivated the students to achieve great heights in the next chapter of their lives. About 2205 pass-outs of 44 students of MIT ADT University from 2020-2021 were awarded gold medals at the ceremony. The guests congratulated the medallists and other pass-outs.
In this 4th Convocation ceremony, MIT ADT University awarded 2205 Students with degrees in which 189 rank holders, 44 gold medallists and 8 Ph.D degree holders were facilitated.
