MONTREAL RENAISSANCE/BOOMING
Montreal is undergoing a renaissance. All around town, buildings are being built, roads are being renovated and people are moving back in. There’s a growing buzz in the city and it’s exciting to be a part of it. Tired of living in an apartment and dreaming of a house? You’re not alone. In fact, there’s been a huge surge in families moving into single detached homes over the last few years. More than 20,000 new houses were built in the Montreal region last year – that’s more than at any time since the early 80s! This year is looking even better…”
The land of the Maple leaf is booming with construction. As it turns out, Montreal is one of the most sought after cities to live in Canada as well as one of the most popular tourist destinations. The city has a rich history and culture, which attracts visitors from all over the globe. What is behind Montreal’s success? In order to answer this question, we have to take a look at what happened in the last few years. There were many projects that were completed, others are underway and several new ones were announced.
The city is experiencing an unprecedented renewal, especially in the area of residential construction. The suburbs are also booming, with new commercial centres popping up everywhere. Many new industries have settled in Greater Montreal because of its strategic position between Canada and the United States and its well-developed transportation network.
There are condos coming up all over downtown Montreal. From Griffintown to Old Montreal to upmarket Nuns’ Island, highrise condo developments are popping up everywhere. I am going to list some specific buildings that are under construction.
