After previously overseeing the development and design of Tesla’s Model S, Peter Rawlinson sought to create a vehicle that addresses all of the issues he believes were evident with that car. So he arrived at Lucid. Of course, when the vehicle you’re producing is valued at well over $100,000, it’s much simpler to do so, but it’s apparent that the startup prioritized what it believed was most important to buyers. And ultimately ended up gambling big on an EV, which paid huge dividends. What makes Lucid range so special? How Tesla slipped off of the strategy and got beaten in its own game.
