The Huohua Bridge (火花特大桥) is located in Huohua Township, Ziyun County, Anshun City, Guizhou. It is a control project of the Ziwang expressway. The total length of the extra-large bridge is 4.075 kilometers, and the total height of the piers is 12,674 meters.
In terms of bridge technology, the superstructure of the main bridge and auxiliary bridge adopts continuous rigid frame and rhombic hanging basket construction; The superstructure of the approach bridge adopts 30m, 35m and 40m prefabricated prestressed concrete T-beams; The substructure abutment adopts column abutment, the pier adopts thin-walled hollow pier, rectangular pier or cylindrical pier, and the foundation adopts group pile foundation or single pile foundation.
The Huohua Bridge with a total length of 4.075 kilometers has 46 high piers above 60 meters, of which the highest pier is 107.5 meters. More than 80% of the pile foundations are underwater piles, and some of the piers of the pile foundations are located on steep mountains, which makes the construction quite difficult.
It is worth mentioning that there are 112 bridges and 15 tunnels on the nearly 74-kilometer expressway. The total length of the bridge and tunnel is 48.3 kilometers. The bridge-to-tunnel ratio is as high as 65.3%.
Ziwang Expressway officially opened to traffic on January 1, 2020. The connection of the whole line will provide transportation guarantee for the construction of a transportation hub and a commercial logistics center in the junction of the three provinces of Guizhou, Yunnan and Guangxi, as well as the energy and raw materials in the economic area of the upper reaches of the Xijiang River, and create favorable conditions for promoting poverty alleviation and development in the contiguous destitute areas of rocky desertification in Yunnan, Guizhou and Guizhou.
