UAE advisory bureau and the Indian Government announced that they will build an underwater sub-sea tunnel from Mumbai to a port city near Dubai named Fujairah. The National Advisor Bureau (NAB) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is exploring a 2,000-kilometer-long underwater rail tunnel to connect Mumbai and Fujairah — a distance that can be covered in two hours.
Abdulla Alshehhi, director of NAB, speaking at a UAE-India conclave held in Abu-Dubai, said this line will not only facilitate the movement of people across the Arabian sea but will also feature pipelines for oil and water. UAE will export oil to India and India can export fresh water to UAE.
Abdulla Alshehhi, Director of UAE’s National Advisor Bureau Limited, speaking at UAE-India conclave, held in Abu-Dubai said, this line will not only facilitate the movement of people across the Arabian sea but will also have pipelines for oil and water, UAE will export oil to India and India can export freshwater to UAE, Khaleej Times Reported.
This will drastically change the economics of oil transport between India and the Middle Eastern countries. And also will make Mumbai a major Transportation hub altogether.
