Very soon, history will be created in Ghana when the country’s longest, and, by far the biggest railway project will be completed. The 97 KM Tema-Mpakadan railway line will lay the foundation of a multi-modal transportation system that will end the country’s over reliance on road transport.
Now, cargo arriving by ships at Tema port will be transported directly till Mpakadan by railway and then will be moved by ships through Lake Volta till Buipe. From there the goods will be transported further north or beyond borders to countries like Burkina Faso and Mali by road or rail network.
Afcons has been instrumental in revamping Ghana’s railway network.
