Our Memorial weekend road-trip kicks off with our first interviewee Xiaoyu Zhang and his modern classic, a 1974 Citroen DS. For those that don’t know, the Citroen brand has created some very futuristic cars for its time and the DS is no exception. The Citroen DS was released with a hydraulic assisted manual transmission and hydropneumatic suspension, which at the time was a very forward thinking, futuristic invention! And the advanced suspension and shifting make this the ultimate classic for LA roads as it absorbs all the bumps flawlessly and you don’t need a clutch pedal in LA traffic.
Take a trip with us through the streets of Los Angeles, CA, and find out why Xiaoyu chose the Citroen DS, and what drives him to create forward thinking cars as a transportation designer.
