#Toyota’s latest push into #hydrogen technology comes as the world’s largest automaker joins the race to capture a piece of the growing market for battery #electricvehicles as the world tightens emission regulations to meet carbon-cutting commitments.
Toyota plans to have 15 electric vehicle models available by 2025 and is investing $13.5 billion over a decade to expand battery production.
Six major automakers, including General Motors, Ford Motor, Sweden’s Volvo, and Daimler AG’s Mercedes-Benz, signed a declaration in Glasgow to phase out fossil-fuel vehicles by 2040.
