Promotion of PM Gati Shakti Mission for the logistics sector through Geoinformatics and Geospatial Technologies
As part of the celebrations of 75 years of Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav), under PM Gati Shakti Scheme, National Institute of Industrial Engineering Mumbai as Nodal Hub for capacity Building in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, in association with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and BISAG-N is organizing an online half-day workshop on 28th June 2022, from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm. The theme of the workshop is “Leveraging Satellite communication, Geo-informatics, and Geospatial technology for urban planning and to promote multimodal logistics”. The objectives of the workshop are:
• Promotion of Capacity Building in logistics management
• To provide insights on Geoinformatics and Geospatial Technology applications that facilitate integrated planning across the multimodal transport to achieve the objectives of PM Gati Shakti master plan.
• To launch different courses and research programmes that help in technology-building efforts by the partner institutes.
• The workshop will highlight the application of viable technologies for developing Rail/Road network infrastructure, multi-modal logistics & opportunities to enhance competitiveness.
We are happy to share that the above workshop is conceptualized under the able guidance of Shri K. Sanjay Murthy, Honorable Secretary, Ministry of Education, Government of India, and Dr. T. P. Singh Director General, Bhāskaracharya National Institute for space applications and Geoinformation (BISAG -N), Ahmedabad. The workshop is hosted by NITIE Mumbai, Prof. Manoj Tiwari, Director NITIE is leading the team in achieving the goals of capacity building in logistics and supply chain management.
