A real hoverboard has been the dream of science fiction fun for many years since Back to the Future II popularized it and actual attempts at creating a hoverboard have been undertaken. Many of these attempts actually do allow you to hover above the ground slightly for a bit. Considering the issues with the tech, it makes sense why there’s little commercial interest but a fake Tesla hoverboard that popped up in 2018 got everyone interested. Elon Musk has no plans for a hoverboard but he did want hovering technology equipped on the upcoming Roadster, it’s definitely an extremely hard technology to adopt to a commercial road-going car but if he wants hover tech, maybe he should start with an actual hoverboard.
