Severance packages for President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, state governors, and other political appointees leaving office in 2023 are expected to cost the country N63.45 billion.

The severance pay for ministers, commissioners, National Assembly members, state assembly members, and special advisers is also included in the figure. It does not, however, include special assistants.

According to the breakdown, the federal government will pay N3.39 billion, while the states will pay N60.06 billion.
