Salomon Skis 2027: The First Look
Salomon releases new product on a reliable and consistent cadence. We know there’s something new every year, and it’s never just a new boot or an afterthought of a ski. This year, Salomon drops a new ski for their progressive freestyle line in Depart, new racing equipment in the Equipe, along with several new boots to get excited about. Not to mention, new graphics on the uber-popular QST series. Dive into our Salomon skis 2027 preview for all the picks.

What’s New
The main news from Salomon include their new boot updates. We get an updated S/Pro Alpha, Salomon’s narrow last performance boot. The reign of BOA continues, and this boot gets an upper cuff BOA. You still get buckles on the lower shell, with their cool instep buckle that’s tucked a little higher up for a better fit.

Salomon tweaked the pivot point to be a little lower to give you increased power transfer. A new liner gives you a better out of the box fit with nices finishes, and a new design with the overlap gives you better heel retention and better wrapping around the calf.
On the ski side, you’ll find a new Depart 2.0 that’s closer to 99mm-101mm underfoot to be more versatile for firm snow, while the 1.0 is closer to 106mm for softer snow. There’s a little less rocker in these skis compared to the wider version.
We didn’t get a chance to see the new Equipe line yet, but it’s fully built out with a S/Lab SL and GS, and regular SL and GS. The key difference on the S/Lab is a stiffer wood core and powerplate underfoot.

Other Highlights
There’s also a new boot in the Shift Alpha hybrid boot series: the new S/Lab Shift Alpha BOA. It has a beefed up liner, stiffer cuff, and gains a little weight. The stated flex on this is 140, and serves as a great option if you always need a little more out of your touring boots.

New graphics for one colorway on the QST series, and a bangin’ new colorway on the QST X.
The directional and metal heavy Stance skis come back unchanged.
Recreational carvers in the Addikt come back unchanged as well.
