The new imperative of the net-zero carbon economy by 2050 has quickly placed new drivers on the aircraft industry. The debate is now about ‘when’ not ‘if’ suitable solutions will appear. Only a few years ago the idea of carrying commercial passengers on working routes such as London to Paris on a hybrid or all-electrically powered aircraft would have been considered an impossibility: yet we can now see the rapid progress of electric aircraft propulsion systems that is starting to make this a reality.

This webinar will consider the various current developments on aircraft powered by hybrid and all-electric propulsion systems and how they can contribute to declared targets on aircraft emissions and noise. Potential technical and operational barriers will also be identified.

Karim Mokaddem, VP Fast Track Electrification from Airbus, will provide a scoping presentation on their programmes and objectives, which will lead to an opportunity for audience participants to pose questions and discuss issues, challenges and solutions.

Join this webinar to better understand the current landscape of aircraft emissions targets and what is realistically achievable in acceptable timescales through recent technical developments, design innovations and changes to airline operational practice.
