The Volvo “Ant” was designed to help improve the efficiency of long-haul transportation forever. Created by Alex Marzo, this futuristic truck’s design was inspired, as the name suggests, by actual ants.
Since they are known to communicate, distribute food, and carry out other duties super efficiently, they seemed the perfect model for a freight transporter. The “Ant” would have various “micro-containers” that could be rented by individual clients to offer better delivery efficiency, navigation, and also help reduce jack-knifing.

1955 Mercedes-Benz Rennwagen-Schnelltransporter
This model, seen in the image above, is a replica of the original racecar, which was lost to history. However, the detailing on this vehicle is fantastic, and it is the perfect rendition of the 300-based flatbed transporter. The Rennwagen was powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six engine that pushed out about 200 horsepower. For its time, it was truly a work of racing art, putting it right up there with other racing greats like Ferrari and Scarab.
1928 Mercedes-Benz 27/170 Typ SSK
This handsome open-wheeler brings to mind the current day G-Class SUV. Perfect for those looking for a weekend adventure, the 1928 SSK was a top choice for motorsport enthusiasts in the pre-war era. Its skinny fuselage and angled front grille add dramatic flair to this classic model. Developed specifically for hillclimb dominance, the SSK was equipped with a supercharged inline-six engine that produced 220 horsepower.
Stirling Moss’ 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR
Long considered one of the most valuable race cars in existence, this silver roadster was driven by Sir Stirling Moss in his famous win in the 1955 Mille Miglia. The vehicle achieved an average speed of 97.96 miles per hour for over 990 miles of the race, which resulted in Moss’ stunning victory. Visitors to the Museum can take in the 300 SLR in all its glory, admiring the sleek silver lines of it and the large, brilliant number 722 on the hood and sides. What does this number stand for, you ask? It represents the time that the 1955 Mille Miglia started—7:22 AM.
