Javier Resendiz Fernandez de Lara cycles the world and documents the joy of riding for all to see. In this talk at TEDxZalha, the founder of La Bicicineta, a cycling community in Playa del Carmen, shares the metaphoric lessons behind his cycling journey and what bicycles can teach us about innovation and sustainability. Javier Resendiz Fernandez de Lara created a cycling community in Playa del Carmen called La Bicineta. With it, he has been promoting bicycle use from an urban perspective, encouraging people to consider bicycles as a vehicle, lifestyle, and social tool. Javier has organized more than 300-night rides and school talks from elementary to university and he has have been collaborating with local governments, local associations, businesses, cultural and recreational events to spread the word about biking culture.
Javier has made three long-distance bicycle journeys:
1st.- 1,500kms / 2 weeks / Playa del Carmen – Tikal – Playa del Carmen
2nd.- 7,000 kms / 4 months / Madrid – Copenhague – Madrid
