Ski Patrol dropped the rope on Lower Catwalk this morning. They also opened Freefall from the top! These were my first two runs of the day, and they were both spectacular! I did Freefall first, and the drift on the skier’s left was so much fun! We received 3 inches of light fluffy snow overnight, 28 inches in the past week, and 113 inches this season. We have 4 lifts operating: Sterling, Sir Henry’s Glider, Madonna I, and Mogul Mouse’s Magic to mid-station. We now have 57 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. Surface conditions are powder and packed powder with average base depths of 16 to 44 inches. 12 trails have been groomed for today, including Smugglers’ Alley, Black Snake, and Magic Learning Trail for a total of 68 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Currently, it is snowing and 10 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Today’s forecast calls for scattered snow showers, with a possible half-inch accumulation, a high of 21 degrees at the base, and 12 degrees at higher elevations.
